About Informatics Group

Headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Informatics has gained a prominent position in the global IT sector, providing some of the most cutting-edge software & Infrastructure solutions with a local and international client list that includes sectors such as e-Government, Border Control, Telecommunications, Enterprise, Banking, and Insurance since its inception in 1983.

Today, we proudly carry a legacy of over 43 years as the oldest IT company in Sri Lanka, having achieved many notable milestones in the country and navigating the ever-changing global business landscape.

Our ICT Campus

Where Ambition Meets Opportunity

With a vision to empower youth in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) age, Informatics Institute of Computer Studies (IICS), now Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), was established in Colombo in 1990. Through its partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University, IIT became the first private institute in Sri Lanka to offer British degrees in IT, business and innovation.

In 1999, IIT introduced Sri Lanka’s first British MSc in IT with Keele University and later expanded undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with the University of Westminster and other international academic partners.

BOI-approved 1,000-acre project

Established in Dehiattakandiya, Mahaweli System C, in 1989.

Pioneering irrigation

The first in Sri Lanka to introduce large-scale drip irrigation.

FSC-certified plantation

The first and only FSC-certified plantation in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia for teak, mahogany, cashew and coconut.

Dairy with purpose

The dairy project began by releasing cattle from slaughterhouses as a meritorious act.
